Back Home, Time to Review

profilingI am finally home, it feels so nice. I am sitting in my living room, watching the Food Network (wish my mom and grandmother were here, we might go out to the store and buy the ingredients to make some of these dishes). I just got off the phone with Chris, he told me I needed to do my homework and quit this journal business. How right he is. haha. So let me finish up this entry and I am off to the races. Homework is proving to be of no fun at all.

So how do you like the photo over to the right? I kinda like it, taken with my cellphone, my lips are really red in the picture haha. I think it is the Neutrogena Lip Boost® intense moisture therapy. That stuff is so wonderful!

You can see my new hair. I am still not sure how I feel about it. If I had left the bleach on there a little longer it would look better. I was nervous though and now I just don’t know… Gotta get rid of that brassy look, the new shampoo has helped a bit but still…

I bought Seth some flowers yesterday, a small boquet of tulips. His favorite. But I took a picture of these guys.

Looks pretty good considering it is a camera phone eh? Actually, almost all of my pictures now-a-days come from my camera phone.

Checked out the new iPod Nano, I want it. So did all of these people.

Let us compare it to my iPod Shuffle (my sweet heart!)

Oh my goodness! It is actually thinner than my Shuffle! how the heck did they do that? Seriously… how did they do that? Someone take your iPod Nano apart, maybe iPod Lounge.com has done this… I want to see the inside (they normally do that sorta stuff)

I browsed Union Square and beyond, chatted on the phone with Jenny as I came upon these fab shoes haha. $30 a pair.

I called Jenny because of this really crazy thing that had just happened. I was walking down Market Street when I saw this booth on my right. There were people administering stress tests. I bite, why not take one?

His questions were normal, weather, traffic, work, school, etc etc. I am stress-free, for the most part. Then he says, “How about Geoff?” and the meter freaking jumps hardcore to the right. He turns it off because no dialing down will get it to move back to the left zero point. What the hell!? Asks me who Geoff was, I tell him… I told him Geoff and I broke up in May. Then I realize, no, we broke up in November! What is that about? I apparently associate my move away from Columbia with the breakup with Geoff. In a way, I guess that is a good thing. In others…

Still, where did that question come from?

Meh, anyways. Found a really cool store that I am totally going back to once I have money. Actually I found a ton of those type stores!

I bought this great bag from this vintage store. It is green canvas with leather trim and base. I love it. One of the nicest bags I have really, and only $9.00!

Got this guy’s attention, mine was drawn to his bag, a white Puma.

He smiled at me, I blushed haha. We sat next to each other until I gave my seat this this really cute girl who looked like she had just had the worst day. She smiled, gosh, lots of smiles on the BART that day! We rode together until I got to the Powell stop, he stayed on… Damn haha. Not really though.

Then was homework time. I tried doing it at Seth’s but his internet kept going out (really I was stealing from a neighbor). I went to four internet cafe’s before I got one that worked. The walk was long, but beautiful and fun.

This one’s for you Nick. Edinburge inspired pub! See, you did’nt need to move to Scotland afterall!

And this one is to Nisa, Jenny and Meghan…

I guess also to our friendly Columbia Missouri Russian booze dealer haha. Ice, Ceeeeegars!?

The first was too loud, the second’s internet was not working, the fourth (starbucks) had no room remaining and the last (another starbucks) was just right. The workers there were not the most congenial but towards the end of my time there we warmed up to each other. Offered me anything I wanted for free! I did’nt take him up on his offer, I think he just wanted me… not my business.

Well, time for me to complete my promise to Chris and do my homework haha. Stupid statistics test tomorrow.

I am reducing my blog to three posts per page because with the normal five, my journal can be some three megabytes to load! That’s gotta be hell for the last two dialup readers teehee. Just hut previous to view the older posts.

Yet again, pictures, maybe words?

So finally Seth woke up and got up haha. I think it was around 2:00 pm that we got out of the apartment. Hungry for some Chinese, the two of us ventured up the hill to King Ling Chinese Food. Quite delicious, but as usual too much food. Going “dutch”, as they say, would be a wise choice for me. My meal was $4.95, I was happy, however, Seth wanted hot and sour soup and pot stickers… so I ended up paying $9.00… I wanted a cheap lunch. I don’t even like hot and sour soup. I got the cashew chicken in memory of Jenny and Meghan haha. They must have given us half a gallon, or more, of hot and sour soup. Hopefully Seth will be able to eat it all, they doggie bagged it for us.

Off to Starbucks, what’s new? I just love my ice mocha with caramel. But, wait, what is that on the Chai pump? A lid? Why one earth would you put a plastic lid onto the top of the Chai pump nozzle? Err… splask guard? Grossness.

Som Burberry was next on our list of “to-do’s”. They have some great patterns and i would love a watch and sunglass pair. There is this yellow sweater that would look amazing on Geoff haha. Totally his style.

I tried on this jacket… it was so svelte. Too bad the price was so high. Not bad considering the one Seth picked out cost $1950. Good graces!

Kenneth Cole taught me that the fanny-pack (phanny-pack?) is back in style. I was just having this conversation, someone asked me “Justin, if the fanny-pack were to come back, would you wear it?” An astounding “oh helllll nah!” erupted from my throat. …But this one is kinda pretty haha. Still… I don’t know… oh god!

Yo Geoff, hungry? I know you love teramisu. Hope you have found a good recipe, think I remember you talking about making it from scratch once… ladyfingers!

Oh Britney! You look like the blonde Elizabeth Taylor, yet you somehow still put off these skank vibes…

My lord, how long did we grocery shop? About like an hour or two I think. I was going crazy by the time we got out of Cala Foods.

I left the shutter open on my camera phone as the elevator went up six floors. This is the result… I think it is kinda cool.

Last picture. Seth and I thought, meh, let’s play with my hair… Well, it at first looked amazing and awesome, just like Ryan Carnes’ hair, which is fantastic… Until this morning, now it looks like poo and I think I am off to Walgreens to send it back to its original color…

San Francisco Pictures instead of words (Now With Words!)

September 9th, 2005 | 1 Comment | Posted in Uncategorized

Finally got into San Francisco, really it was quite quick. Parked here for 8 dollars because I took 5 mins too long, gah. Double gah, I was only a block from Seth’s, should have parked there, ack!

Damn the power of Veto… Reasoning for the veto? This vote by the legislature, to legalize gay marriage by not descriminating, goes again the people of California’s vote on proposition twenty-two. By not vetoing the bill, Swartz would not be doing the will of the people.

Hold up.

The people of California elected the officials who passed this bill! Their vote is supposed to reflect the people who they actively poll and who daily lobby to get their opinion known to their representative. More over, how could one person reflect an entire state better than some 70+? Variety equals accuracy here. Statistically, the greater the sample, the more accurate the result.

Allowing same-sex couples to marry does not change anything for married couples, who have made a concrete union of christianity and marriage (there is a difference between “Holy matrimony” and “marriage”, just for those who don’t know). In church it is a “Holy matrimony” and to the courts it is simply marriage, no “holiness”, no religion at’all. Gah, this irks me.

Oooh, pretty fire-escape from Seth’s! Stairway to heaven if you ask me. At least to the roof of his building right?

I did my laundry, breaking new, breaking news…

How is this Steven Tyler’s daughter? She is so beautiful… wish she was single and interested in little ol’ me…

Haha, so we went to this liquor store to get some drinks before heading to Popscene. The sales people were so funny… and short. They could’nt reach the top shelf of liquor so Seth had to do it for them haha.

Union Square Park, beautiful at night time. I love this statue. I want to take a better picture, ie, one not with my camera phone.

Like a Junior High dance, these two were really getting at it, making out hard core. I took some video but how the hell do I put it on my blog? Anyone know how to convert the video from a camera phone? It is not mpeg or mov, it is something else entirely… sad.

Some unfortunate things were said to me which put me in a really sour mood. I went off on my own to get a break, oh Starbucks, you are everywhere. I got comfort from the glow of another Starbucks company, it felt nice, like a warm blanket, or a hug.

Next morning I get a ticket… I was parked here from 6:00 pm - 8:45 am…. ticket was given to me at 6:45am, which is totally before 9:00 when I would have gotten a ticket. Evil evil meter maid, sho nuff don’t know what ya do’n! Gabbershiet, guess I have to fight this one.

Well there goes my paycheck

Ouch, only $249 for the 4gb flashbased, color screened, pencil thin, 14 hour battery, music playing iPod Nano. Wonder if they are at the mac stores yet…

I have to have this haha… what a waste of money, I so don’t need it…

Pictures are worth How many Words?

I don’t have time to update but here are a few pictures from yesterday.

I will explain later haha

Special Dreams…

September 7th, 2005 | 1 Comment | Posted in Uncategorized

Last night I had a “special” dream about someone… A really good friend who I have not talked to or seen in a while. But hey, if we do see each other sometime soon, like when I am back in Columbia, maybe we should try out my dream haha!

You know (or actually don’t know) who you are!

p.s. and it is probably not you…

Almost Fading Away

September 7th, 2005 | 2 Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

I am so tired of being dis’re’pected!

Meanwhile I was offered a possibility of a job (haha) at another Starbucks. I would be making a ton more money but mostly I would be working at a corporate store. Fantabulous! Had an interview yesterday, but who knows. I love working at Target… but only because of a few of the ppl there.

Thursday I am hopefully going to bring a friend to the airport and then spend some time with Seth in San Francisco. Sad reasons for her trip but we will have a fun drive for sure.

I keep spelling “sure” as “Shure” which I think means my brain wants me to use my Shure E3c’s more… Tomorrow I swear.

So tell me… would you have arranged the items for this photo the same way?

Who puts three hot things in a refrigerator? Iron in the door? What in the hell? Target needs to do some serious investing into a new advertisement department. Whatever.

This next picture is troubling in so many ways

How do you get “Fresh Spring” vegetables in late summer? “Just Say Combo!”… then what? You still have to say what size combo you want… Yeah, and it is hella expensive. This small sub is ok priced but so many sandwiches here at Quizno’s are hella expensive. For instance…

Lunch, only meal of the day actually, a simple regular sized ham sandwich, Baked Lays and a diet cranberry juice (from the soda fountain)… $7.99! At Subway it would have been like $5 and the would have been nicer. Seriously I was so poorly treated. I won’t get into how they could’nt remember something as simple as “for here” and not “to go”, wrong bread, no onion please (on ham, what the hell were they thinking?!)… they gave me such mean looks. I, as Kinder from work would say, “I am so over them”… too bad I will probably eat there tomorrow haha… maybe I have learned my lesson though and will hit up Subway for a healthier, cheaper, faster lunch.

Time for sleep. What a dull post? No, it was chock full of excitement!

-justin

p.s. thanks to all my new readers in Europe and Vietnam!

p.p.s. Gay Marriage bill passed (YAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!!) but ol’ Swartz (gov of California) is probably going to veto it (bastard republican).

p.p.p.s i am going to hang out with Chris after work tomorrow, yay!

Bang’n Good Time in San Francisco

September 5th, 2005 | 4 Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

I finally headed out to San Francisco to see Seth around 2:00 pm. The day got a slow start after getting home from work around 12:00. I had hoped to head to the city by 12:30 but alas, things got a little busy with errands plus waiting for Seth to call me back to let me know he still wanted/could have me over. I was nervous his work schedule might have changed this being the weekend of Labor Day. I got to listen to some Loudon Wainright (Rufus’s father) (how rock is that?) and I saw a truck from Springfield Missouri, totally thought about Jenny. Shout out! haha

I finished this really junior-high-school-girl shadow box for Seth. Not really a shadow box but definitely cheesey and cute. I am still thinking about a message it might send off but hopefully… Anyways…

And in the junior-high-school-girl frame of mind, I have a huge crush on Ryan Cabrera. He is so hot! haha, what a dork. I want his hair and his body’s not bad either haha. (so it is kinda weird that some family read my blog, but I guess if they keep coming back and there has been no intervention, my family just really understands me or whatever…) But shaw, like totally, Ryan is so cute!

Turns out Loren is already in San Francisco, Seth totally did’nt tell me this… It was great though, we all had “linner” at Dim Sun (that’s how it sounded, never saw the spelling). It was fabulous chinese food in China Town (corner of Grant and Sacramento). I actually got pretty decent parking just about two blocks (this was the weekend of great parking).

After linner we headed back to Seth’s. Loren gathered her things and we headed to Starbucks (imagine that) and got some coffee. Seth read off some fabulous concerts we can hopefully try to make and I got really excited when I saw the Decemberists concert! Jenny! haha

I am typing this up at work right? This guy we will call “Gasion 411″ really annoys the hell out of me. He is just such a bastard to everyone. This is what I do on my lunch… I don’t actually “lunch”, I just either shop or work on writting my book.

At the bus stop I saw an advertisement for my new cellphone (which I love like a peach on-a hot day) and of course had to take a photo (with the very camera phone in question!). I really do love this phone though. It has great reception and battery life. Plus the camrea is really swell. I mean, it is nothin like a real deal digital camera but it gets the job done plus it actually has pictures you can decipher, some are super clean and clear, such as that one. It sometimes gets a little messed up with its exposure/lighting adaptions, sometimes pictures are kinda blue or washed out and low light sucks but that is how it is with almost any camera. It is not easy to get those shots. Even my 4300 had trouble at times with those situations, not to mention the other Coolpix.

So, Loren caught the bus to Santa Rosa, funny thing right? This guy rolls up in a wheel chair and has the bus driver setup the chair lift, etc etc. Normal right? Well, then the guy gets out of the wheel chair and tosses it onto the ramp and stands as he and the chair are lifted in… he kinda looked like a homeless person, as did his two friends, the two later got into a tussle as to who was going to make sure he got a seat on the bus… Yeah, don’t ask me.

We went to Circuit City and got Seth a new DVD/VCR Combo player, eager to watch a movie together in his new apartment. I love watching movies! I remember when god, like, three times a week Geoff and I would watch movies, eat ice cream and just have a blast. Haha, our ice cream was always a blast, pretzels, carmel, chocolate, ben and jerry’s, moose tracks, cookies, brownies… how the hell I not gain a thousand pounds?! I actually lost weight through all of that haha. Well, we actually cut down quite a bit on our normal eating so we could get away with it. Plus Geoff and I worked out nearly everyday for an hour or so.

So, headed back to his beautiful apartment and set up the DVD/VCR Combo player. It is a Panasonic open box deal and totally had Tarzan II in the DVD tray! I watched a bit of it today while Seth got ready to work.

whoa jumping ahead of myself!!!

haha

So after that we had a little time together, talked etc, was nice to be just the two of us again.

Off to a M.A.C. party for Stephanie (promotion). It was in the Castro (gay San Francisco to the max) at this club called The Bar. We were totally V.I.P. haha. We walked passed the long line to get in and straight into the VIP room.

It was a small V.I.P. room but small rooms means closer friends. (literally)

I met just amazing people. Ian, Virginia (from France!) and her boyfriend (drawing a blank on his name), Richard (growl!), Sterling (beautiful!)… They were all so nice. Viriginia and her boyfriend both were in their fourties but I swear, they looked late twenties. I want to use whatever they have been using haha. They looked incredible. He is quite the hottie!

Victor was there, the M.A.C. designer, big wig kinda sort. He was wearing a Target Italia track jacket, I got a kick outta that. Mr. Style wears Target, guess I don’t feel so bad about my recent (ginormous) Target appearal purchases. (four of those track jackets actually).

We had a few drinks, started off with Champange, then a vodka collins and then a Sol beer (really good with the lime!). I totally ordered a Disorona Sour and got the Sol… quite different drinks but fabulous none the less. I think I was the only one drinking a beer, silly gay club. I had a great time at the club, did a little dance, made a little love and was a total social butterfly. It was so fun.

What next? We hopped onto the Bart and towards Seth’s place.

We went to this Italian restaurant near Seth’s place. It had such potential… the red wine had gotten a few too many breaths of air and the white wine sauce was a little too lite. Still, I enjoyed the company and ambiance.

Seth and I made the walk up the block to his apartment building and went to sleep. We totally forgot to watch Napoleon Dynomite! Oh well, we had other things on our mind. It was a really great sleep, solid and warm.

Woke up the next morning to move my car and found fantastic news… free parking on Labor Day! Back to his room and in bed for a little more sleep. We got up a few hours later and had a fantastic breakfast at The Crepe House. I remember when I made cheese blentzes (crepes) for everyone at this party host by Geoff and I at Landon’s house. It was such a gay affair, such a fabulous idea. Too bad it only happened once… wonder why that is? Was…

I had eggs benedict and my lordy was it good. Not quite my parent’s but pretty darned close. After leaving the breakfast, we made our goodbyes and I drove to work. Yick. There I was, typing this all out at work and now I am in bed, ready for tomorrow to be over with haha. Ready for a lot to be over with…

Lots more to write but sleep is most important!

Hugs
