El Paso, I’ll Pass’o…
Kind of ironic, as we are climbing altitude, reaching a cruising level, from my iPod Shuffle comes Bette Midler belting out, From a Distance. It is one of my favorite songs, one of those songs that you like from when you were a kid and all the way into adulthood. Another one of her songs is The Rose, When a Man Loves a Woman and Miss Otis. Those are my favorite Divine Mrs. M songs.
I am over the fact that I had a four hour layover in El Paso (of all places), now I am fretting over the fact that I have another stop before I get to Oakland. We stop in LA before finally heading to Oakland. This has to be the worse flight schedule I have ever witnessed. I got to the airport at like 8:30 and won’t leave the airport until what will be 7:30 for me. Eleven hours to travel from TX to CA. Normally that would be a three to four our flight…
I talked to Landon for about an hour last night. It was really nice. I think we explained things better. Not sure where it leaves us, we’ve now said what we needed to say.
I also walked the golf course last night, dodged deer and fell into a sand pit. It was like super late into the night, or early morning, and I was bored. A few hours after leaving the golf course a storm broke out. I could not sleep, the water was pelting the house so hard, the thunder was cracking so loud and the lightening was lighting the sky so brightly. It was like a scene from a movie, the apocalyptic scene of some sci-fi movie. Beautiful sites; I really should have pulled my camera out and taken some pictures. Damn it, why didn’t I think of that? I am always three steps behind myself.
Pics from above…
I finally got an answer on Wordpress.org about why my site was all funky looking with music, apparently my code does not validate, which seems awfully odd to me because it has worked in the past. I think there is something more to this, seeing as the prior is so true. I am going to play around with the codes and maybe make something that will work. Until I am able to fix it, I am very sorry for the craziness on music and video posts.
What really is going to such is that I will have to go back and re-do all of those posts with the new code. Painful! If I had any coding skills, I would have some simple program or cron job do it for me, alas, I only had two semesters of computer science.
Even still, I am a fast learner…
The song Defying Gravity, from Wicked, reminds me of Geoff and I or Landon and me. I feel like together, either of the two of us could do anything. The combos depend on the situation. Don’t really need or want to get into that but I do believe if Geoff and I set our heads to something, we could and would accomplish it with ease, and probably better than our comparable peers. We would be unstoppable. The same goes for Landon and me, but for whatever reason, I feel more strongly about that with Geoff. Perhaps it is his cut throat attitude. Do not cross Geoff and think you will get away with all of your limbs…
With me, the damage is done metaphysically. You will feel the pain, but the source won’t be traceable and it might be delayed, just enough to cause the most damage. I’m an evil person, deep down, somewhere, I swear, I am total evil, solid black, the coal Santa puts in bad kids’ stockings… That’s me, total evil. Haha
Turbulence, lots of it. It does not help me type, that’s for sure. Especially on my Axim, tiny keyboard and top heavy PDA, not a good combo when you stir in hot air. Boy is the sun hot, my window, yeah, totally hot.
Speaking of hot- Only a few hotties on this plane. One I was giving hard core “sit next to me” vibes but then got distracted by his wrist bands… Which were tattooed on? Sexy! I don’t think I would ever do that but meh; it certainly looked good on him. He was wearing; well sadly he is still wearing these, gray jeans, green shirt with white screen printing of a vine and has a T-Mobile PDA/Phone. I like dorks, especially sexy dorks.
I found the other gay guy in El Paso, he is flying to Portland. That is all.
Made a new Brothel ad/invitation for the new Brothel season…
Nelly McKay has been really popular with the iPod Shuffle as of late, no complaints here. Curious as to when/if she will put out a new CD. It has been years and years since her debut and it only seems right that she gives us something new. The original CD was fantastic, is she afraid of a sophomore slump?
Perhaps she and Regina Spektor could do something together. They are both in New York, same age, one blonde one brunette, both liberal and fabulous. I think they could make some serious magic in the studio.
What do you think Jenny, I bet it would go platinum hehe.
Ian sent me a Ben Fold’s song today, that is all.
Landon sent me his picks from New York, all 146mb’s of pictures.
My brother emailed me asking me to ask my dad to check his email.
My brother’s girlfriend Facebooked me a message today, it was super sweet and fun. I shall respond to her. So much for boycotting myspace and facebook I guess. I got a message from Matt and Jason on myspace yesterday. Another Matt, guessing my Starbucks Matt, left me a comment (two actually) on my post with the manual espresso machine. Anyone want to give me the Elektra, if not, a comment on my journal will suffice, I guess…
I ordered a chicken quesadilla for lunch at the airport. It had celery and green beans in it. Oh, uh, yeah… What the hell kind of quesadilla is that? Onion, pepper, cheese, chicken, guacamole, sour cream… Green beans and celery? GROSS. Stupid El Paso.
You know why there isn’t a Starbucks in the Austin airport? It is not a Texas owned or originating company and therefore, cannot be placed inside of the airport. That is about the stupidest… I want Starbucks, I have been craving it since my last cup, which by the way—
Went to a Starbucks just outside of Austin, they had new espresso machines. Matt, you would have approved of these. Freaking amazing. Only 50 of them in the nation. Three months old. I took a picture of them, as best I could, with my camera phone.
I made a comment about them being probably not that expensive about $4000 a piece and the guy smiled and scoffed at me. There is no way they cost more than that. There are two espresso machines and two steamers, yes, the steamers were separate. Sexy as hell. Ask my mom and dad, after leaving the Starbucks, I was falling to pieces. This was an awful Starbucks experience (customer service bad and the drinks came out slowly), so why did they get the beautiful new espresso machines? My Starbucks is fast and super happy fun with fabulous customer service.
Grrrr. Mad.
I am becoming a coffee snob. Oh dear. Next up? Teas.
I hope to go to the Barista Western Finals in Healdsburg in March. My family wants me to enter in the competition, bah. I don’t have the equipment or the skills (yet). You make twelve drinks in fifteen minutes and are judged by the taste, cleanliness, speed and presentation.
I need to get a nice espresso machine so that I can get on it for the competition, maybe the 2007 competition I can be apart of…
Well, I am done rambling, I think I am going to get some shut eye; I have about an hour and thirty before we land in LA and then another hour and thirty to Oakland. Kevin is picking me up again, what a nice guy. Hopefully I can pay him back somehow.
Roger that, over and out and some sort of nonsense.
