Amazing Fun at seVen

February 28th, 2006 | No Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

Rarely, or perhaps never, do I have fun going to a club by myself.  Tonight was an exception. It was Mardi Gras at Club seVen, had a freaking awesome time!

Time for some sleep.  When I get off work, I’ll get to some wi-fi and write.  So hard for me to write when I am at home.

The Dawn and Drew Meetup

February 26th, 2006 | 2 Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

So fuck. My post disappeared. Pictures now, words later, after I get through with work and all. Oh yeah, sleep too.I am at Aroma’s, with fifteen minutes before I have to leave to go back to work. Funny, I go from one coffee shop to another. Whatever haha. I have attached a song from Anthony Hamilton to this post, it is a wonderful song from a great cd sung by a tremendous voice. Go check him out, buy his cd! I got two of them yesterday.

Now I must head to work, again. I got distracted, sorry!

Excited!

February 23rd, 2006 | 1 Comment | Posted in Uncategorized

I’m so excited about the things that will be happening so very soon.  The sooner the better right?  Wonderful conversation with Geoffrey today and the start of one with Jenny (ended prematurely).  Now I am off to work, for the second time today.  Training new people for the new Starbucks.

Yoga tonight!

How About a Little Whine with Your Red Herring?

February 22nd, 2006 | 1 Comment | Posted in Uncategorized

PGE-Bill-MarkNever mind the fact that:

  • I moved into your apartment to help you, you were supposed to find a new roommate while I covered rent for you. I had a place to live
  • I told you I would only be there for a month and I have stayed longer to help you pay your rent
  • I pay more than you for a smaller room with nearly no closet while you have a private bath and huge closet and larger room
  • You used my phone to make international calls and owe me money

Go ahead and tell me I owe you $50 for utilities! You told me that they would be like $48 total, so I would pay $24 a month. Whatever, I am out of there.

Good luck finding someone who will pay so much for such a small apartment in the next few weeks.

Sorry to be so bitchy but, it’s that time of the month for me.

I’ve Got Two Dooses, How About You?

February 19th, 2006 | 1 Comment | Posted in Uncategorized

I made a joke, totally on the fly the other day…

What do you get when you cross a duck and a goose in the wild?

Give up?

Two dooses wild!

Get it? LIke, two deuces wild, the poker term when two’s are wild… Oh come on, it’s hilarious!

Taye Diggs can sing like nothing else, too bad his part in Rent was so minuscale. Mark is perfection though, the perfect guy to me. Ok boys, you now know who you need to imitate to get my heart! (He reminds me of Landon so much, but at the same time, he is nothing like Landon, hmmm). La Vie Boheme!

My dad, as you know, came out to California for business. He was doing investor relations (whatever that entrails). San Francisco has an incredible financial foundation. He was put up in the Mandarin Hotel, a four or five star hotel, a really amazing, kick ass place. I took pics, they are on his camera, hopefully I will get them from him soon. We were on the fourty sixth floor with a corner room, which means LOTS of windows.

At one point, while leaning against the glass, I thought to myself… why not just jump? Not for the death that would obviously become of the fall, but to have the feeling of flying free. I lost my fear of heights for a moment, leaned against the glass and imagined flying down to the roof garden sound fourty floors below. How awesome would that be?

Saturday we headed to my house to check it out. The place is in pretty darn good shape, new heater, new walls and ceiling, laundry room… It is really getting “there”. Still needs a lot of work but it is progressing enough that I am moving out of my way too expensive apartment. I am so excited to get out of there. It is just hell!

My roommate is an ok guy, but nineteen years old and, well we are just so different I guess. Plus, I cannot listen to my music because of the neighbors and the chance of eviction. Tonight, the girls and I are going to my place and we are going to watch Rent at full blast and cry our eyes out and maybe have a few drinks. How fun?!

Hmmm, where is Jennifer? We were supposed to work out a bit ago. I tried calling her, no good, text messaged, nothing… I was hoping to do dinner with her before we did our workout. Callie will be heading out to the gym to meet up around 8:30 once she is finished with her “non-date”.

I haven’t talked about work too much recently. I love it. Muah Starbucks! (Can I get a reaction outta Matt? I miss you like Cheney misses kevlar!)

Kisses

Juice Shack vs Jamba Juice

February 15th, 2006 | No Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

justineIt must be warned that Juice Shack is already in hot water for mispelling my name.  J-U-S-T-I-N is not that hard to get, is it?  I have had my name spelled:

  • Justen
  • Gustin
  • Justyn (I know a Justyn)
  • Justan

Etc.

Now, they spelled my name Justine, as in the female version of Justin.  I used to be called “Justina” by Geoff, for whatever that’s worth.

The Juice Shack, “Workout Warrior”, is their formulated smoothie for the best workout.  I go to Juice Shack because there are no Smoothie Kings out here and because I want to support a local company.  Well, no more!

The Jamba Juice Protein Power Pizzazz has around twice the protein at a better taste and cost.  Plus it has more effective nutrient suppliments and healthier overall.

Goodbye Juice Shack, really would love to frequent you but… you have no website (what the…) and your smoothies suck when compared to other offerings.  At least you don’t put ice cream in your smoothie…  Still, if someone is working out, they probably want more than 11 or so grams of protein in their smoothie.  I could eat a Designer Whey protein bar and get THREE TIMES that much protien… and for around $1.70

Transparent Reflections

February 15th, 2006 | No Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

In memory of Mark’s thougts of my “art”, I thought about scanning some random things and making them artistic, at least artistic to me. The first is what happens when you scan the burned out breaklight from a Honda Accord (my Honda Accord). I replaced the left one last week and the right one this week, bah for paying $12 for what could have cost me $4 if I had just bought the two pack from the start…

The picture is hardly interesting to look at, click it for the full sized version on Flickr.

But what happens when you scan the bulb as though it were a film or transparency? Luckily I have a kickass scanner (to me at least) that allows me to do just this. I absolutely love this picture, it is the background on my laptop right now. Check out the full sized version by clicking the picture.

So what do you think? Am I wrong to consider this artistic (the transparency picture) or is Mark just an artard?

How Perfect is This?

I am sitting at Aroma’s, waiting for my Khans (a vibrant and tart hibiscus tea) to finish brewing so I can enjoy its unique goodness. In the background, Rufus Wainwright! I love this place, they play amazing music, featuring entire CD’s of Rufus Wainwright, from start to finish. The cute lesbian at the register selected the tea for me, I asked for her favorite and after much contemplation, Khans was the answer.

The auburn coloring and sweet aroma has my senses on the edge, which is surprising considering I am so sick.

I woke up this morning at around 4:30, unsure if I worked at 6:00 or 7:30… turns out it is 7:30, alas, I got to work around 5:45 or so, feeling sick, tired and most miserable. The fatigue poured through my entire being, everyone could tell I wasn’t feeling my best. I just can’t call in sick! I would feel awful, like I was letting everyone, Sean and Co., down. So healthy or sick, tired or awake, I go to work. I have only missed work when I am not legally allowed to work, my awful eye infection.

The day quite obviously started off sour. My laptop in tow, I signed up for a free day of T-Mobile Internet, put a little blogging and email time in before I headed off to research Starbucks and the effects of caffeine on weight loss and muscle gain. This short bit of research provided me with hours of titillating facts for Sean and Tyler to laugh over haha. I love popping out random facts, it is so much fun! The half life of caffeine in a human is about four hours, but if you are pregnant, it is about 18 hours! That is one of the reasons Dr’s tell pregnant women to slow down on the caffeine intake. Good to know right?

Finally got a taste of this Khans tea. What a story it tells! The moment the now crimson tea hits your tongue, a shot of tartness shoots through the salivary glands. Saliva is produced at a record pace, before you know it, your jaw is tightening up and your cheeks start to hurt. The taste coats every millimeter of your mouth and just as quickly, disappears! This tea is a mystery, I love it! Seems to be helping my sinuses…

Turns out, by the way, that caffeine has both positive and negative effects on weight loss, muscle gain. On one hand, the coffee increases endurance and total energy for a longer, more productive workout. On the other hand, it can increase the desire for food intake and is a diuretic. So, basically, eat lots of protein and drinks lots of water when doing the caffeination workout and you should be fine. I did and wow, what a workout!

Probably one of the best workouts I have had so far. My abs are starting to show, through the layer of triglyceride created fat, yuck! Well, good thing I am creating a nice layer of muscle under that layer, it will eat away at the fat and clean me out, get some nice cuts haha. Eventually. Right now I am just enjoying the feeling of increased strength and energy.

You would no know it now but earlier today I was in such a shitty mood. I got out of work early (a first) and decided it would be a good idea to lock my keys in my car… So I got out of work thirty minutes early just to sit at work for two more hours. Fuck! I did get a 9 minute tanning session in (yeah, I tanned, shut up, I was anemic and looked it) and got some more Starbucks reading done. I am scheduled for a shift manager meeting next week… um, how awesome is that? (Matt… yes, I know… hahaha!)

I swear I have had this Khans tea before, it is simply too good to be true, my new favorite tea? Watchout Tazo Refresh!

My stomach is growling which probably means I am hungry, that would make sense seeing as all I have to eat today was my five minute punishment splurge this afternoon after I locked my keys in my car. I ate a croissant!

Last night I had a swell time dancing. I did not do a whole lotta dancing, just not in the mood, but I did like getting to know Adam a little better and hanging out with some friends I had not seen in a good while. The place is outta this world (for Santa Rosa) awesome.

Well, I think this post is long enough. I’m going to head out and chitchat with Callie, she just arrived.
