From the DMV to Nirvana

June 30th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Just My Fabulousness, Just My Life

Our last day in San Francisco found us back at the Department of Motor Vehicles.  But before we ran our last errand in The City, I picked up breakfast for us from Sugar Café.  We shared a Cinnamon Pecan Brioche and a Dark & White Chocolate Brioche.  They were very tasty.  Too tasty.  Ryan and I decided that they spelled certain death should we make that a regular breakfast.

Cafe Sugar is a neat little café.  It feels like it belongs in Los Angeles with its modern furnishings and a tiny bit pretentious employees.  The menu is full what read to be pretty delicious items though with a name like Sugar Café, you would think there would be more sweets on the menu.  I guess really though, that’s okay, we eat enough crap as it is.

I hope to enjoy an entire meal there the next time we get out to San Francisco.

This time Ryan was getting his ambulance license.  The wait was quite a bit longer this time around.

We had the same, hilarious DMV agent.  We threatened to be back and what do you know, we were and we had him.  He was really fun, made being at the DMV not so painful.

All the studying paid off as Ryan passed his ambulance test with flying colors.  We took the 24 down Divisadero to the Castro where Kevin was waiting.  The plan was shopping and then lunch at Nirvana.

I picked up a little gift for Micheal and Ryan got a couple of things for some co-workers.

Lunch at Nirvana was awesome.  Mike and Kevin used to bring me there all the time, well, at least three times haha.  I had the Tofu Panini on Focaccia while Ryan had the Mano Mango Noodles.  They have quite a few vegetarian dishes, highly recommend it.

Kevin drove us to our Hotel 480 where we were staying to pick up our bags and then off to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to catch our flight out of San Francisco.

We used the excuse that we were on vacation one last time as Ryan got a Kona Mocha Chip ice cream and while I sipped on my Dark Chocolate Frappe from Pete’s Coffee.  I sure do miss Pete’s, they make the best cappuccino.

So here we are, waiting for the boarding for our plane to begin.  I’m hoping to get some work done on the flight so I’m not so rushed when I get home to finish this project.

Pride, Porn and Jestertunes

I got an email from Paul from Jestertunes.com saying he wanted to meet up at Pride.  He has been a long time reader of my blog and I thought it would be totally fun to meet a reader.

I listened to Keith and the Girl (KATG) as I walked the walk from our hotel to the Bart and from the station to the Civic Center where all of the festivities were going on.  For the longest time I was lost in the KATG episode instead of pride and it wasn’t until Paul called me that it really kicked in where I was haha.

Down there I bumped into a classmate from Santa Rosa Junior College who I met through an old friend, Chris.  He’s another porn star (Turk Melrose) (wow, I know a lot of porn stars) and probably the best looking one I know, wink wink.

One thing I have noticed about the porn stars I know, they are all so nice.  Like, the sweetest people you would ever meet.  He was signing autographs and looking all sorts of busy so I didn’t hang around too much.

But while I was at his booth waiting for him to get a free moment, I found a couple of DVD’s of an old flame (haha) and a flier for their company, Pornteam.com, which used the same stock photography I purchased for the Megaplex site I made.  I found that pretty funny.

Then off to another booth.  I was approached a few times for kisses and handed condoms and lube from a few people… Oh Pride how I love you.

Met Paul and his crew at the Smirnoff booth.  What fun people these guys were!  We shamelessly judged and drooled over guys and had just a gay ‘ol time.

Then there was of course, the weird (even more weird than the above Gay Zombie)

After a while we decided to make a bee line for some dinner.  Every year they get Thai food after the festivities.

On the way to Thai we bumped into Nick Starr.  Fun guy.  He propositioned me a few more times (hehe) and we took a few pictures together, Paul, Nick and Justin: Internet Whores.

I just had a cup of really yummy soup at Zen Yai Thai since I was waiting to eat my real meal with Ryan.

We bumped into some more porn stars (damn, lucky us) and haggled them on a DVD.  Went from $25 to $10 to $5 to $7 + and ass grab.  It was fun, he was cute (on the left).

We hung out there for a good long time, before I went back to the hotel where, despite our plans for authentic Thai, we ended up crashing the rest of the night.  Still, it was a lot of fun, and meeting some readers was awesome too.

Mama’s Boy

June 24th, 2008 | 3 Comments | Posted in Just My Life, Just My Thoughts
Last night, Micheal, Max and I watched the movie, Mama’s Boy starring Diane Keaton who looked absolutely fabulous and Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite).  Perhaps the best part was Jeff Daniels (aka Uncle Joey from Full House) and Laura Knightlinger from the most awesome show, The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman.

It’s a movie about a 29 year old kid living at home with his widowed mother, his attachment to her, his nepotism, and his inability to socialize with others.  Basically, it is about my ex boyfriend Seth.  Seriously though, we really enjoyed the movie.

We all really liked it.  You should rent it, and then let me borrow it so I can rip it.  haha.  We rented it in HD off my AppleTV.  The movie paired with some “cheap” good veggie pizza equals awesome.

The Piano Bar

June 19th, 2008 | 5 Comments | Posted in Just My Life

Last night, while Ryan worked hard all night saving lives, Micheal and I joined Dustin, Annalee and Seema at the Piano bar for some good times.

We drank a top hat.  It’s like Sangria plus hard liquor. It’s like heaven.  It’s $12.

It’s really big and Micheal and Annalee drank it all.  (Well, not really)

It was a really fun night.  I’m glad Micheal called me to go hang out.  :-)  We were txt messaging Jenny the entire time, sending pictures and our love.  Next week Micheal and I are going to Saint Louis to visit her and go to Showtune Tuesday.  How exciting!

UPS Recycles

June 9th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Just My Life

Being green is a good thing, except when what you are recycling are tracking numbers.

I ordered Weeds Season 3 on Bluray from Amazon.com for Micheal using my Amazon Prime shipping.  I guess I did it too late in the afternoon on Friday so the package didn’t get shipped out until today, I got an email confirming it this morning.

I went online to check the status of the order and saw this.

You can click the picture to blow it up a bit.  Bottom line, it shipped out today at 6:10:01PM (a few hours after the email I received from Amazon) and was actually delivered already.  In fact, the package went back in time nearly two years!

Thinking this was just an Amazon glitch, I went to UPS and attempted to track the package.

So even UPS states the going back in time business.  Amazing.  Space Time Continuum, that easy.

I called Amazon and they apologized for the confusion, they explained that sometimes UPS recycles their tracking numbers.  I’m not exactly sure why they do this.  There are over 1.775176e+18 combinations of UPS tracking numbers.  That is… more than… 1,775,176,000,000,000,000 possible packages.

Of course, that’s using the simple calculation and shortening it cause I’m lazy, and disregarding the fact that some of the letters and numbers are source/destination designators, not randomly generated.

Even still, this is a little annoying, and a bit funny.

Come On Trent!

May 7th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Just My Life, Just My Video

Last night I went out with Micheal, Dustin, Megan and Langley.  Who was missing?  Trent!  Apparently this happened the night before…  For best results, turn up the volume a bit.

Oh how I’m going to miss these people.  Apparently Trent showed up right as Megan was being recorded.

Bags! Bags! BAGS!!!

I’ve been getting toys like crazy lately huh?  It’s all for a reason, or at least it is in my head.  Here are my latest two gems.  Arrived today from Amazon.com is the Crumpler 7 Million Dollar Home.  This holds ALL of my photo equipment, less the tripods and ARRI lighting kits haha.

7 Million Dollar Home

That’s not my stuff (which is too bad cause DAMN!) but that is my bag.  I’ll be reviewing this guy after a while once I get to use it a bit.  So far I could not be happier.  Took a bit to get it properly configured but wow, what a wonderful fit the two of us are!

The second bag purchase was a Built.NY Laptop Porter bag.  This thing is the shizbizzle.  They really thought of everything.

Built NY Laptop Porter

Let me just copy and paste what they said about it…

The new Laptop Porter boasts two exterior pockets for easy accessibility to documents, files and accessories. Constructed from neoprene, the Porter provides remarkable protection for your laptop. The main compartment features a heavy-duty zipper closure and the zigzag stitched seams improve water resistance and durability. Our proprietary removable shoulder strap makes carrying our bag more comfortable.

  • DESIGNED TO HOLD LAPTOPS UP TO 15.4″
  • DUAL EXTERIOR POCKETS FOR EXTRA FILE AND ACCESSORY STORAGE
  • THE BAG ABSORBS THE SHOCK, NOT YOUR SHOULDERS
  • SOFTGRIP HANDLES
So it holds the laptop, a binder or papers in the accessory storage doo dad, my power cable and headphones and flash drive and media reader and everything has it’s own place.  The bag is so comfortable since the entire thing is neoprene.  So where more bags would pull on your shoulder with each step, this one stretches to absorb the shock.  Genius!
Ok, I’m off to hang out with Micheal and Dustin.  Some Will and Grace and maybe some video games and some beer.  Yay to great friends.  Too bad they are all leaving me soon!  Sad face!
