I Wants to Ride My Bicycle

Yeah, I said “wants”.

Went out with Scouts to do a photoshoot.  It was fucking freezing.  I am looking forward to doing another, more organized photoshoot soon so we can actually get everyone in the shot at once haha.

It was a lot of fun though, took a shit ton of pictures but haven’t had time to process any yet.  Well except those above which I just white balanced and did some exposure work.  For whatever reason I just don’t have a lot of colorspace to edit them. I think it’s the nature of the shot and the time of day was all off. I wanna do it again around 4pm at Cooper’s Landing. Beautiful sunlight there/then.

  1. Were you moving, or stationary here? If you were stationary, these shots are fantastic candidates for filling in sky detail with HDR goodness in the blow-outs! I’ve just started in on hand-held HDR and am absolutely loving it. There are photos that most would consider worthless that I’ve bracketed to death and salvaged beautifully with an HDR merge.

I’m dying to see what somebody with your talent could do with HDR!

    Dave2s last blog post…Goodbye

  2. I was actually sitting in the back of a truck going about 20 mpg. Did I mention it was like a negative wind chill? haha

Next time we do it, It will be later in the day so the sun is not directly above them. It will be at a different location called Cooper’s Landing which is a river community (start banjo music) that has the most beautiful sunlight in the early evening. Hopefully that will assist in preventing any blowout in the sky. I actually used a flash to bump up the light on the guys so I could turn the sky down a bit and it STILL blew out.

Looking forward to learning from my mistakes.
