Abraham Lincoln

I was watching one of my favorite comedians and NPR show, Wait Wait, Don’t Tell Me panel members; Paula Poundstone, perform her fantastic standup routine on Bravo, care of the iTunes Music Store, yesterday when I heard her speak on how she managed to fill the pages of her latest book.  (How do you like that sentence?)

Paula PoundstoneShe said the task was daunting and for a great while she just sat and looked at the blank pages (so to speak).  Her inability to concentrate was preventing her from writing but it was that ADD/OCD that actually made her book…  Instead of writing about herself, she wrote about Abraham Lincoln, as the story goes.  Turns out, she could not keep on task about Lincoln through all of her research, began comparing his life to her life and there you have it, her latest book There’s Nothing in This Book That I Meant to Say.  I guess that is where the title of the book comes from…

Anyways, this gave me the idea of a new strategy for my blog.  I sometimes find it hard to get anything out of me, I get distracted or just don’t feel up to it.  This was never a problem for me, until I moved back to Columbia.  Weird.

Anyways, hopefully this technique will work and I will be writing more on here.

Time for sleep however.

Much love,
