The Moon and I

Bad news on the Wrinkle photo project.  Talked so someone who used to take pics in nursing homes, retirement communities (my Dad).  He was telling me that if people are spending the night, they probably signed a HIPAA.  And if they signed a HIPAA, as most would have to, I would have to get legal documentation of permission to take their pictures, and anyone else that might show up in the frame.

If there were some senior centers around here, which I believe there is at least one, I might have a chance there.  But I can’t rely on these other things right now, I’ve gotta go out and take pictures!

I have one really cool idea in my head which I will share tomorrow.  Yikes though, I have to have pics to show my prof by Tuesday!  Just pics that show I’m working on something though, nothing more than that.

So, until then, I leave you with the only pics I did take tonight.  Pictures of the moon with Micheal, who stayed warm in the car.

This is going to be a very busy week.  Right now I’m tired, thirsty and getting sick.  Boo.  I have chronic bronchitis.  Get it every year and just about every year, it turns into pneumonia.  So right now I’m trying to get healthy, meanwhile the semester is ending and my classes are getting really busy.  Not happy about all of this!!!

Night friends. Thanks for all of the comments.

Mizzou Obama Rally

Apparently you had to line up for the Obama Rally at 9:00am to get a good spot… That’s 12 and a half hours before he even was to take the stage!  I got there at 6:00pm and here’s what the line looked like.  Apparently the total was around 40,000 people, though some estimates go up to 65,000!

And apparently there were some 16 charter buses on the way!  Basically a freaking ton of people were all anxious to see Barack Obama speak.  As I type this I can hear the cheers and music from the quad, it sounds like victory to me!

Here’s a few pics of all the people waiting.

I hung out with the media folk for a while.  With my camera, lenses and tripod, I totally fit in.  Might have even gotten to go further into the rally area if I’d stuck with them but I wandered too far out and the cops sent me across the street.  Apparently you need real credentials haha.

Oh, and of all the people there, I only saw two guys who were for McCain/Palin.  Oh, yeah, you could totally tell too, besides the Obama is a socialist t-shirt… look at that face!  Holy moly…

Yikes right?!

Micheal, Ryan and I walked around, bumped into a few friends but ultimately decided not to stay for the event seeing as we probably wouldn’t even see Obama from where our standing room only spot would be.

I really don’t think there is anyway 50,000 people could fit in the area they designated.

We went to Flat Branch for appetizers instead. I bumped into one of my fellow photography peers.  Her photography is absolutely amazing.  I’m always amazed at how incredible and personal her pictures are.  Stunning stuff.  What’s great though is that she saw me first and told her boyfriend and buddy that I was a really awesome photographer in her class… Wow, so cool.  She’s better haha.

We had a great time, then we headed back to my apartment where we are currently watching the zombie movie, 28 Days Later.  I’ve never seen it, it’s pretty decent though 🙂

Fun night!

Like Zoinks!

It’s such an awesome time of the year, time for scary movies and haunted houses.  FUN!

I went out the other night to do some long exposure (5+ minute) photos.

Before I went out to take the pics, I met up with Kevin, Libby, Travis, Crysta and David at Shakespeare’s Pizza.

I didn’t eat or drink anything which is totally unfortunate haha.  It was sure good to see all my old friends who I had not seen in a while.  Libby looked fabulous, love the hair girl!  And Kevin is always fun to hang out with, one of those old friends that no matter how long you spend apart, you pick up right where you left off.

Dave and Crysta came along with me to take the pics.  It is so much more fun to have people go with you, especially when they sing N’Sync and Blu Cantrel with you as you drive haha.

They spotted this house as we drove around, it sure is hallowing isn’t 😉

What do you think?  This is just a start.  Tonight Micheal is going to join me as I take a bunch more of these long exposure pictures.

Gossip Girl Night

Micheal came over today for some Gossip Girl and to have dinner and wine.  The idea was Indian and Rieseling but due to the Indian place we like closing a couple of hours early, we were forced to enjoy Bangkok Gardens.  Thanks to Micheal for treating me to dinner, it was yum!

We met this awesome girl named Biaca Sammy Sam Samantha who was eating some Thai at the bar.  She works for a local company as a receptionist and was just about as cute as a button.

She seemed facinated with Micheal and I, of course she would be haha.  Of course, I was probably just as facinated with her.  I love meeting really fun and loving people like Samantha.  Yay!  She actually reminded me of the waitress Ryan and I had last Valentines in Kansas City at the amazing vegetarian restaurant, Eden’s Alley.

Shout out to Samantha!

After picking up the Thai and heading home, we started up the AppleTV and got our Gossip Girl on.  I love how we both agreed on every aspect of the show, the good and the bad.  We found ourselves making the same comments about outfits and plot point at the same time.  Awesome.

I have yoga in the morning with Max and then class and then yoga again and then lunch and then I’m meeting with my photography professor just to chit chat.  Looking forward to that, kinda.

So anyways, a really fun night, sorry I missed out on having a drink with you Karen!  Next time, I promise!  Oh and really looking forward to Saturday.

Night night!

An Eventful Weekend

So the weekend started off with me going to class… Only I didn’t have class. Lame.  So turned out I had the weekend off so I wandered around town before deciding to head to the Mizzou Football Tailgate.

As with any home game, downtown Columbia was buzzing with out of towners.  Who knew all of those Nebraska fans would help cause the upset?  You’d think that with all the extra people would come more conscious parking jobs.  Nope.  As per usual, people park wherever they want, like total asses.  This would never fly back in San Francisco, you’d get towed if you parked like this.

This guy ended up blocking two parking spots.  Argh, I can’t stand these people. And as someone who lives downtown, I think I have every right to bitch and moan haha.  I guess he was trying to park his car align with the bike that was already there.

I had and still have never tailgated, I was mearly an observer.

It really wasn’t for me.  Maybe I just needed a few beers.  Yeah, I bet a little booze would fix all that.  There is nothing stopping the crazy Republicans and “patriotic” types though…

The flags were pretty though!

Then there was…  Well I don’t really remember.  Weird.  Oh yeah.  Went to Karen‘s to watch the game, fun time!  Great food and people, plus Micheal joined me and helped me polish off a fabulous bottle of Francis Coppola Diamond Claret 2005.  Ahhhhmazing.

So let’s skip to Sunday. Started out with brunch with the Finer Things Club and ended with a trip to Cooper’s Landing where we enjoyed live music, interesting people and surprisingly good thai food.

(looney tunes?  really?)

Loved the no dogs signs all over the place.  Interestingly enough, we saw at least three or four dogs running around the place.

Ryan and I went home… actually were sitting down for the night at around 7:00… that’s insanity!  We made a chocolate peanut better pie (really small but very rich), watched some TV and then headed to bed.  Wow, how old are we?!

Awesome weekend, thanks greatly in part to Karen!  Way to go girl.

In Case You Missed It 2

New photos are being published to PiczarPhoto.com.  You should head on over there and let me know what you think.  Three up already, about six more to go.

Thanks and I hope you enjoy them.

Crewdson Home

Oh and I’d be remiss if I didn’t give a HUGE thanks to Brittany for all of her help yesterday.  She spent a few hours looking over my shoulder as I edited pictures giving me some really inspiring ideas and keeping me from going absolutely crazy.  Check out her blog!

And to Micheal for his help finishing the last two prints, and for checking out the new show My Own Worst Enemy with me… the jury is still out on that show.  Check out his blog too!

Scouts at MoJo’s Pub Crawl

Micheal met me the other night for the Scouts concert at MoJo’s.  It was the same night as the Pub Crawl and just a day before the Blues festival here… Basically a lot of booze in a little amount of time for this city.  Awesome.

Aaaaanyways Scouts at MoJo’s with Micheal.

If you haven’t been to a Scouts concert, you don’t know what you’re missing.  (What a stupid phrase but you know what I mean…)

And since most of you haven’t been able to go see Scouts in concert, how about you get to listen to them off the radio.
